1. Meet or talk on the phone to evaluate
if you wish to hire Calabrese Consulting.
2. Set up a date for the first session and
receive an information package. A signature is required to indicate
you understand that coaching is not counseling and that you are
making all the decisions for your career. If coaching becomes hindered
from a counseling issue, you may be asked to stop coaching until
you work on the counseling need. Sessions can take place either
on site, in a neutral private setting, or by telephone.
3.
Prepare for and participate fully in each session. Calabrese Consulting
will provide a summary a few days after the session. This is a “value
added” bonus that will both include the topics and options discussed
and additional insights from reflecting on the session. It will
be your working document until the next session.
4. At this point the scheduling of the next
session is partially dependant on the scope of the work and the
personality type of the client. Based on an individual’s personality
and working style many different relationships with a coach can
be established.
Here are a few examples:
Very active, high energy, go-getter.
This type of client works well on a longer cycle in between coaching
and lives off the options suggested in the summary. They tend to
create even more options for themselves and come back for the next
session to re-focus.
This type of personality
will absorb the process as their own and will help make the process
and the goals happen in a timely fashion. They are prone to consistently
spaced sessions. It works this way as long as their life circumstances
are reasonable and not “out of control.”
This is a calm laid back individual, who could have difficulty
taking the next step. This type of client often makes regular, short
spaced appointments to ensure they are being motivated to their
goals.
This individual is an “idea person” and is comfortable with
following leads and starting and stopping projects. They tend to
show up at the door or call to see if they can be squeezed in for
an appointment.
| Is Coaching worth your investment? |
- Will that new business suit provide
the confidence you need to get the promotion?
- Will dinner out with friends teach you
how to bring that project in on time?
- Will the massage eliminate the sources
of your stress?
- Will the new pair of red shoes “wish”
your impossible employees away?
- Will the salon cut or manicure ensure
a good yearly review?
